The Oklahoma State Cowboys cap their best football season in history Monday with a 41-38 overtime win over Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Cowboys, the number three ranked team in the BCS poll, finish the year at 12-1 while Stanford falls to 11-2. The game was a back and forth affair with the quarterbacks, Stanford’s Andrew Luck and Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weeden having big nights. But in the end, Stanford’s kicker, Jordan Williamson, missed a field goal to win it in regulation and in overtime while the Cowboys converted in overtime.
In the Rose Bowl, Oregon beats Wisconsin 45-38 to win the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1917.
In other bowl games, Georgia blows a 16-0 lead and loses the Outback Bowl to Michigan State 33-30 in three overtimes. South Carolina sets a record for most wins in a season with 11 as it beats Nebraska 30-13 in the Outback Bowl and Houston quarterback Case Keenum throws for 532 yards and three scores in a 30-14 win over Penn State in the TicketCity Bowl.
Tonight, the Sugar Bowl takes center stage as West Virginia faces Michigan.
