- The Gator football team loses JUCO lineman Visesio Salt to Utah; Salt had originally pledged to Florida but went to Utah he says to be closer to his Utah home. Florida also lost out on defensive end Jordan Jenkins who verbally committed to Georgia on Monday.
- Former Auburn running back Michael Dyer, kicked off Auburn’s team, will reportedly join Arkansas State where former Tiger offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn has taken over as head coach. The Tigers also get a new defensive coordinator as Brian Van Gorder goes back to the college ranks, leaving the same position with the Atlanta Falcons.
- The Kansas City Chiefs have made interim coach Romeo Crennel the full time coach of the team; he took over with a few games left in the 2011 season after Todd Haley was fired.
