Gator Men's Hoops Routs Georgia

January 11, 2012

The Gator men’s basketball team bounces back from a poor road performance at Tennessee on Saturday to defeat the Georgia Bulldogs 70-48 at home Tuesday night.

The Gators jumped out to a 7-0 lead and didn’t look back as they led by as many as 25 points in the second half on a couple of occasions. Florida was not spectacular but was efficient in the win as it showed a better defensive effort than the one in Knoxville this past weekend.

Guards Bradley Beal and Kenny Boynton lead Florida with 17 points each with Beal nailing four 3 point shots as the Gators were 7 of 21 from long distance in the game. Overall, the Gators shot 50 percent for the game.

Florida is now 13-4 and 1-1 in the SEC while Georgia falls to 9-7 and 0-2. The Gators next face South Carolina on the road on Saturday.
