In another late coaching move in the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts have decided to fire head coach Jim Caldwell.
Caldwell leaves after an injury riddled 2-14 season with the Colts, but also leaves amid some confusion. There were numerous reports Tuesday that Caldwell would be retained but a few hours later the announcement was made that he was let go.
The Colts also fired their general manager and team vice chairman as management looks to start over after a disasterous 2011 season.
In other NFL news, the Atlanta Falcons hire Miami Dolphin defensive coordinator Mike Nolan for the same position with their team.
And the St.Louis Rams formally announce the hiring of Jeff Fisher as their new head coach.
