The Gator men’s basketball team tries to get back to some winning ways today when it takes on Alabama in the second day of the SEC Tournament in New Orleans. You can hear the game live today at 3pm on WRUF Sports Radio 850.
The Gators had a first round bye while the Tide moves on by beating South Carolina 63-57 yesterday to improve to 21-10 on the year. Florida beat Alabama earlier this year when the Tide was shorthanded due to suspensions handed down by coach Anthony Grant but since that time and some players returned, Alabama has played good basketball.
Florida is trying to erase a three game losing streak. It got a scare when All SEC performer Bradley Beal missed a couple of days of practice due to a sprained ankle but he will play and start today.
In Day One action, LSU stops Arkansas 70-54 and will face number one Kentucky today; Ole Miss beats Auburn 68-64 and will face Tennessee in a huge game for both teams and their NCAA Tournament hopes. Georgia dealt Mississippi State’s NCAA chances a huge blow when it beat the Bulldogs 71-61 last night.
