The Florida Gator lacrosse team improves to 7-2 on the season after defeating the Stony Brook Seawolves 17-4 on Wednesday in Gainesville. With the loss, the Seawolves drop to 5-2.
Florida played great defense throughout the contest, allowing only 11 shots and forcing Stony Brook to turn the ball over 12 times.
The Gators also put on an excellent offensive showing, led by junior attack Caroline Chesterman who scored five goals and added one assist. Kitty Cullen contributed two goals and two assists, extending her scoring streak to 33 games, a program record.
Florida also received scoring contributions from Shannon Gilroy, Ashley Bruns, Nora Barry, Brittany Dashiell, and Gabi Wiegand.
The Gators will be in action again on Saturday when they travel to Williamsburg, Virginia to face William and Mary. Opening draw is at 1 p.m.
