Gator Spring Football Practice Continues; Monday Sports News And Notes

The Gator football team continues spring practice today, the Sweet 16 is set in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament and a whole lot more heads up our Monday Sports News And Notes…

** After allowing fans and media to attend two practices, the rest of the spring football practices for the Gator football team are now closed.   Practice will continue this morning.

** The Sweet 16 is now set for the NCAA men’ s basketball tournament.   Florida will play Marquette late on Thursday night in its next game but Florida State is out after losing to Cincinnati on Sunday.   Kentucky is the only other SEC team left in the field.

** The Gator women’s golf team won its own SunTrust Invitational golf tournament over the weekend while the Gator men finish third at the Chris Schenkel Invitational.   Florida lacrosse also won over the weekend as well.

** Brad Keselowski beats Matt Kenseth to win his first race of the NASCAR season Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee.

** In the NFL, while Peyton Manning still hasn’t signed with anyone the Seattle Seahawks hae agreed to a contract with free agent quarterback Matt Flynn who played in Green Bay last season.   Quarterback Alex Smith has also visited with the Miami Dolphins after playing in San Francisco last season.
