The Florida Gators (9-2) won big over the nation’s 10th ranked team tonight, handling the Big Green (5-1) by a tune of 20-4. The Gators got big time contributions from many of their top offensive players, while Sam Farrell and Jamie Reeg led an inspired defense that allowed zero goals after halftime.
Kitty Cullen, Gabi Wiegand, Ashley Bruns and Brittany Dashiell combined for 14 goals in the first half as the Gators jumped all over Dartmouth and raced to a 17-4 halftime lead.
From there, the defense took over, shutting down Dartmouth. Cullen finished one of her best games of the season with five goals and three assists; Wiegand and Bruns finished with four goals each and Dashiell racked up five points on three goals and two assists.
The Gators travel next to Columbus, Ohio to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes in a matchup that has become a bit of a cross-sport rivalry. The 7-1 Buckeyes are coming off a big victory against St. Bonaventure, and welcome the Gators on Saturday. Opening draw is set for 1pm.
