The fourth ranked Florida Gator baseball team (25-7/7-5 SEC) travels to Tallahassee to face the top ranked Florida State Seminoles (27-5/14-1 ACC) tonight. This is the third and final meeting this season between these teams with the Gators taking the first two. Florida won 9-2 in Gainesville and 4-1 in Jacksonville.
The Gators, once the top ranked team in the nation, have lost five of their last seven games after dropping their latest series agianst the LSU Tigers. This was their second SEC series loss in a row.
The Seminoles come in as winners of six of their last seven. Their 8-4 win on Sunday against Georgia Tech was victory number 1,700 for head coach Mike Martin.
Junior righthander Scott Sitz (1-2, 2.60) will take the hill for the Seminoles. The starter for the Gators will be a game-time decision.
