The fifth ranked Florida Gators lacrosse team will host the Vanderbilt Commodores at noon on Saturday.
Florida is coming off a 13-12 double overtime win last Saturday at Johns Hopkins University, which extended their win streak to nine games. The Gators are now 13-2 overall and are 3-0 in American Lacrosse Conference play.
Florida head coach Amanda O’Leary says even with its recent hot streak, the team still has a lot it can improve on.
Vanderbilt is the 17th ranked team in the nation with a 7-5 overall record and is 1-3 in the ALC. The Commodores had won two conecutive games earlier this month before falling to the tenth ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 13-11 last weekend.
Coach O’Leary knows playing Vanderbilt will be a challenge.
After Saturday’s matchup with Vandy, the Gators have one remaining regular season game at top ranked Northwestern before the start of the ALC Tournament.
