Hamilton Hits Four Homers In Win Over Baltimore

May 9, 2012

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton had the most prolific night of any other American League player in history when he went 5 for 5 with four home runs and a double as Texas beats Baltimore 10-3 Tuesday.

Hamilton’s 18 total bases in a game is more than any other American League player has ever had; one of his homers was off former Gator Darren O’Day.

In some other games, Tampa Bay lost 5-3 at the New York Yankees as Raul Ibanez homers twice for New York.   Atlanta beat Chicago in the National League 3-1 and Houston edges Miami 3-2.
