Gator Baseball Players Receive SEC Honors

As the Florida Gator baseball team readies for an NCAA regional at home this weekend, the SEC has announced several awards.

Several Gators are named to the All-SEC first team, including catcher Mike Zunino, outfielder Preston Tucker, pitcher/DH Brian Johnson and relief pitcher Steven Rodriguez.  Nolan Fontana makes All-SEC second team and Josh Tobias makes the All Freshman team.

Kentucky’s Gary Henderson was named SEC Coach of the Year while LSU outfielder Raph Rhymes was named SEC Player of the Year.   Mississippi State’s Chris Stratton was tabbed SEC Pitcher of the Year and Kentucky’s Austin Cousino is the SEC Freshman of the Year.
