SEC Meetings: Playoff Should Be Top Four Teams

The annual SEC meetings continue today in Destin, Florida but one thing that definitely came out the first day was consensus that any college football playoff should include the top four teams in the country, regardless if they won league titles or divisions…or not.

There has been much talk about a four team playoff for college football that could begin as early as 2014 and some have floated the idea that a team that does not win a conference championship should not be eligible to participate in the playoff.

The SEC disagrees.

If this is indeed the consensus of the SEC, that thought will be presented to a meeting of the top brass of the BCS coming up in June.
