Florida and Kent State Try to Stay Alive in CWS

There are two games on today’s 2012 College World Series schedule as both number one seeds will try to advance to play this upcoming Wednesday. The first game today will feature No. 1 seed Florida taking on the No. 3 seed Kent State.

Kent St. (46-19) had an outstanding season, but once again they will face a tough challenge. Kent, no doubt, is the biggest underdog left in the 2012 CWS, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be the last team standing. It won’t be easy today as they face Florida catcher Mike Zunino (.320, 19 HR, 65 RBI) and the rest of the talent filled Gators.

The second game tonight features No.1 South Carolina taking on No.2 Arkansas.

The Gamecocks beat the Gators 7-3 in their opening game of the CWS, putting South Carolina in the winners bracket vs. the Arkansas Razorbacks, who beat Kent State.

The schedule for today is as follows:

Game 1 – Florida vs. Kent State – 5:00 p.m. ET.

Game 2 – South Carolina vs. Arkansas – 9:00 p.m. ET.

Of course you can catch all the action in Gators Baseball on our sister station, Country 103-7 The Gator with coverage starting at 4:50 PM ET.

Make sure to tune in first thing Tuesday morning to talk about the game with WRUF’s own Steve Russell as he broadcasts Sportscene LIVE from Omaha bright and early 7-9 AM ET on WRUF Sportsradio 850.
