Braves Stay Hot And Rays Lose In MLB

The Atlanta Braves stay hot in the National League East after beating the Houston Astros 6-1 Sunday.   The Braves trail NL East leader Washington by three games and the Nats keep pace by beating Miami 4-1 as Stephen Strasburg gets his 12th win.  Today Atlanta is at Philadelphia while Washington travels to play Houston.

In other NL games, Cincinnati has a four and a half game lead on Pittsburgh in the NL Central after losing to the Pirates 6-2.   Still, the Reds take three of four in the series.

San Francisco has a half game lead on Los Angeles in the NL West.   The Giants beat Colorado 8-3 while LA keeps pace with a 7-6 win over Chicago.   San Diego tops New York 7-3; Philly edges Arizona 5-4 and St.Louis blanks Milwaukee 3-0.

In the American League, Baltimore blanks Tampa Bay 1-0 as the O’s take two of three from the Rays.   Tampa Bay is off today.

In other AL games, New York now has a six and a half game lead over the Orioles in the AL East after beating Seattle 6-2.   Chicago leads Detroit by a game and a half in the AL Central after the White Sox rally late to down Los Angeles 4-2 and Detroit also rallies to beat Cleveland 10-8.

Texas leads LA by five and a half games in the AL Central after losing to Kansas City 7-6.   Toronto nips Oakland 6-5 and Boston downs Minnesota 6-4.
