Rays Sweep Jays; Marlins Lose

The Tampa Bay Rays continue their mastery over the Toronto Blue Jays with a 7-1 win on Thursday. Tampa Bay sweeps the series and now has won 16 straight series against Toronto. Tampa Bay now goes to Minnesota for a weekend series.
In other American League action, New York increases its AL East lead over Baltimore to five and a half games after beating Detroit 4-3 while Kansas City knocked off the Orioles 8-2. Cleveland beat Boston 5-3. Oakland now has the wild card lead while Detroit and Baltimore are tied for the second wild card lead.
In the National League, R.A. Dickey improves to 15-3 as New York breaks a nine game home losing streak with a 6-1 win over Florida. Dickey throws a complete game in his win.
In other NL games, Washington sweeps Houston with a 5-0 win; St.Louis downs San Francisco 3-1 while Arizona beats Pittsburgh 6-3 to drop the Pirates three games behind Cincinnati in the NL Central. Atlanta was idle and they will be at the New York Mets with the lead in the wild card race; Pittsburgh leads for the other wild card spot.
