Braves Lose To Giants; Rays Win Again In MLB

The San Francisco Giants continued their red hot play of late and down the Atlanta Braves at home 5-2 Thursday night.   A four game series continues tonight as the Giants open up a three game lead over Los Angeles in the National League West; the Dodgers start a series at home against Miami.

In other NL games, St.Louis rips Houston 13-4 to sweep the series and Philadelphia beats Cincinnati 4-3 and Colorado completes a sweep of New York with a 1-0 win.

In the American League, Tampa Bay, the wild card leader, has moved to within two and a half games of New York in the AL East after a 5-0 win over Oakland.   The Rays have won 17 of their last 22 games.

In other AL action, Los Angeles takes a wild 14-13 win over Boston for a series sweep; Detroit sweeps Toronto with a 3-2 win; Texas downs Minnesota 10-6.
