** Charlie Strong’s Louisville football team beats in state rival Kentucky 32-14 Sunday to keep the Governor’s Cup in Louisville. Baylor, without quarterback Robert Griffin III who has moved to the pros, does not miss a beat and whips SMU 59-24. Bethune Cookman also gets a win, downing Alabama State 38-28.
** Tonight in college football, Georgia Tech faces Virginia Tech.
** Running back Maurice Jones-Drew ends his holdout and reports to the Jacksonville Jaguars without a new contract he was seeking.
