Gator Soccer Welcomes New Mexico Sunday

The No.22 Florida soccer team will host New Mexico this Sunday.   The Gators come off a 3-0 win last Sunday against Florida International. It was a big win and momentum builder for the Gators as they had fallen to the Florida State Seminoles just two days before. Orange and Blue head coach Becky Burleigh says she was impressed with the way her team played.

Sunday the Gators will face off against New Mexico, a team Burleigh says may pose a challenge for her squad.

Coach Burleigh says playing non-conference teams is a little harder on the coaching staff because there’s not as much film available to watch and the only thing they can do is pick apart their own weaknesses.

Sunday’s game, which can be heard on ESPN Radio 850/900 beginning at 12:50 p.m., will lead the team into conference play. Florida will start their SEC schedule with two road games against Kentucky and Auburn respectively, next weekend.
