The 24th ranked Florida Gators are traveling to Texas to take on SEC newcomer Texas A&M in this week’s gridiron matchup. The Gators are coming off of a 27-14 win over Bowling Green last week, while Texas A&M’s season opener against Louisiana Tech was postponed due to Hurricane Issac. Florida Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn talks about how to stop the Aggies offense.
Quinn talks about the running game that the A&M offense runs and how to contain that on Saturday.
After last week’s performance, sophomore Jeff Driskel was named the starting quarterback for the Gators. Driskel says he is excited to take command of the Florida offense.
After quarterback John Brantley was injured in last year’s game against Alabama, Driskel, as a true freshman, was put in the game. Driskel says that big game experiences like those will help the team pull out a win this weekend.
Texas A&M has a new quarterback, too. Redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel is taking snaps for the Aggies and Florida head coach Will Muschamp talks about his skill sets.
ESPN’s College GameDay will be in attendance for the game with that coverage slated to start at 10am with kickoff set for 3:30pm. You can also catch the 1st & 10 Pregame Show along with coverage of the game and the Extra Point Postgame Show at 8:00pm on ESPN 850/900 and on 103.7 The Gator.
