Giants And A’s Stave Off Elimination In MLB Playoffs

The San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A’s stay alive in the Major League Baseball playoffs with wins on Tuesday.

In the American League Divisional Series, the A’s top Detroit 2-0 but still trail the Tigers 2-1 in the best of five series.   Game 4 is tonight.   San Francisco edges Cincinnati 2-1 in a National League Divisional Series with the Reds still up 2-1; Game 4 is this afternoon in Cincinnati.

In the other ALDS, New York hosts Baltimore tonight with the series tied at 1-1 and in the other NLDS, Washington hosts St.Louis this afternoon with that series tied at 1-1.
