Yankees, A’s Win In AL Playoffs; Giants And Cardinals Do The Same

The Oakland A’s and the San Francisco Giants could make big comebacks in their respective divisional series.

The A’s, down 2-0 in the American League Divisional Series to Detroit, rally from a 3-1 ninth inning deficit Wednesday to beat Detroit 4-3 to force a deciding Game 5 tonight.   In the other ALDS, Raul Ibanez hits a walk off homer to give the New York Yankees a 3-2 win over Baltimore and a 2-1 series lead; Game 4 is tonight in New York.

The Giants, also down 2-0 in the NLDS, force a Game 5 tonight in Cincinnati with an 8-3 win over the Reds Wednesday.   And the defending champion St.Louis Cardinals go up 2-1 against Washington with an 8-0 win; Game 4 is today in Washington.

The National League games will be played this afternoon with the AL games played tonight.
