After sustaining numerous injuries last week against Vanderbilt, Gator football coach Will Muschamp said Monday he is hopeful of getting some of those players back and playing this week against South Carolina.
Muschamp expects tight end Jordan reed, (head) offensive linemen James Wilson, (eye) Xavier Nixon (upper extremity injury) and Jon Harrison (elbow) to all be ready to play Saturday. Wilson did not play at all against Vandy while Nixon and Harrison left the game with their injuries.
Defensive lineman Dominique Easley is also expected to play this week after sitting out last week with a knee injury and Muschamp said he is hopeful that linebacker Jelani Jenkins will be able to play after not playing Saturday because of a hamstring injury.
Wide receiver Latroy Pittman hurt his ankle in the Vandy game and he might not be able to play this week and offensive lineman Matt Patchan and cornerback Gerald Riggs will still be out with their injuries.
