** In Major League Baseball, the St.Louis Cardinals survive an over three hour rain delay at home to beat the San Francisco Giants 3-1 to take a 2-1 lead in the National League Championship Series. Game 4 is tonight and you can hear it live on ESPN Radio 850/900 starting at 8pm.
** The ALCS has Game 4 today as Detroit hosts the New York Yankees after the game was postponed last night in Detroit due to a threat of rain. Detroit leads 3-0 in the series.
** New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez apparently will not start again today for the Yankees in the ALCS. He said he believes the lineup is always better with him in it, this despite the fact he has slumped badly in the postseason. There are also reports the Yankees and Miami Marlins might talk a trade for the Florida native.
** Lance Armstrong has a double dose of bad news; NIKE and others drop him as a sponsor and he steps down as chairman from Livestrong, his cancer fighting charity in the midst of allegations he illegally used performance enhancing drugs in winning the Tour De France.
** The NFL Thursday Night game tonight finds Seattle visiting the San Francisco 49ers and there is also a nice college matchup as BCS number three Oregon travels to face Arizona State.
