** The Gator volleyball team has two home SEC matches this weekend as it faces LSU Friday and South Carolina Sunday in pursuit of an SEC title. You can hear Friday’s match live on Country 103-7 The Gator at 5:50pm.
** Miguel Cabrera is the American League Most Valuable Player and San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey wins the National League MVP. Cabrera, the league Triple Crown winner, beat out Angels star Mike Trout while Posey beat out last year’s winner, Ryan Braun of Milwaukee.
** In the NFL, the Buffalo Bills improve to 4-6 with a 19-14 win over the 4-6 Miami Dolphins.
** Former Gator catcher David Ross signs a free agent deal with Boston Red Sox, leaving the Atlanta Braves.
** The St. Francis volleyball team is in a Class 3A state semifinal match today against Clearwater Central Catholic while Lafayette is playing for a state championship in Class 1A as they try for back to back titles.
** The Florida women’s basketball team lost at FSU Thursday night 98-67 to fall to 2-1 on the year.
