The Florida Gator volleyball team takes to the road to finish out its SEC season after winning the conference title outright on Sunday with a sweep over South Carolina.
First, they’ll head to Auburn, Alabama to take on the Tigers on Wednesday night before closing out league play in Athens against the Georgia Bulldogs on Friday. Florida is currently 17-1 in the SEC with their its one loss coming against Tennessee. Florida has faced Auburn earlier in the season, sweeping them in the O’Connell Center in mid-October. However, this is the first time the Gators will face Georgia this season. The Bulldogs have a 7-11 conference record so far, while Auburn is at 8-9. Gator head coach Mary Wise says both Auburn and Georgia are tough to beat on their own courts.
After SEC play closes out, the Gators will await the NCAA Selection Show on Sunday afternoon at 4PM on ESPNU. They already have an automatic berth into the playoffs with their SEC championship. Wise says with so many teams playing great this season, there’s no telling how the selection show will turn out.
Throughout the season, Wise has said their goal is for the team to be playing at its highest level when it comes time for NCAA play, and these last two SEC games are all that’s left.
