Local Prep Football Teams Have Playoff Action Tonight

A lot of local high school football teams continue postseason play tonight.

In Class 6A, number one Gainesville High School hosts district rival Ocala Vanguard in a Region 2 semifinal game.   The Hurricanes beat Vanguard earlier this season.

In Class 7A, surprising Buchholz travels to face district rival Tallahassee Lincoln in a regional semifinal; Lincoln handily beat the Bobcats earlier this year but Buchholz has momentum after beating number two ranked Jacksonville First Coast last weekend.

In Class 5A, Eastside will have to travel to face number two Dade City Pasco in a Region 2 semifinal.  

In Class 1A, Region 3 semifinal third ranked Lafayette travels to face number one Trenton; these two teams met the opening weekend with Trenton winning.   And in Region 4, fourth ranked Newberry is at number two Union County in a district rematch that the Tigers narrowly won 10-7.
