** Tom Brady throws four touchdown passes as the New England Patriots rip the Houston Texans 42-14 at home on Monday Night Football.   New England is now 10-3 while the Texans fall to 11-2.

** After reeling in three verbal commitments over the weekend, several media outlets are reporting that Florida loses linebacker commitment Quinton Powell.   Powell hasn’t ruled out Florida but will explore other options.

** The Miami Heat down the Atlanta Hawks 101-92 Monday Night as LeBron James scores 27 points and Dwayne Wade chips in with 26.   Former Gator Al Horford scores 20 and hauls down 11 boards in defeat.

** The new Associated Press men’s college basketball poll is out and Florida is now ranked fifth in the country, moving up one spot from last week.   Florida’s next game is at number eight Arizona this weekend.

** Bobby Petrino is back in college coaching, getting the Western Kentucky job after Willie Taggert left to coach USF.   Colorado has hired San Jose State coach Mike MacIntyre as its new head man.
