** Florida junior safety Matt Elam has been named to the Associated Press All-America first team. Elam is the first Gator since Chas Henry in 2010 to make the first team. Making third team are defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd, placekicker Caleb Sturgis and punter Kyle Christy.
** The Los Angeles Lakers have now lost eight of their last 11 games after dropping a 100-94 decision in Cleveland last night.
** The New York Yankees have reached a contract deal with former Boston Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis; the deal is for one year.
** All of the suspensions handed down by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to the New Orleans Saints players allegedly involved in receiving bounty payments have been overturned. The ruling was made by former commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
** Arkansas has hired former Wisconsin defensive coordinator Chris Ash to the same position with the Razorbacks. He worked under new Arkansas coach and former Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema with the Badgers.
