** A lot of upsets in men’s college basketball on Wednesday night. Number one Duke is hammered at Miami 90-63 and LaSalle upsets Butler 54-53. Northwestern downs 12th ranked Minnesota 55-48 and Drake tops 17th ranked Creighton 74-69.
** In SEC hoops, LSU gets its first league win by beating Texas A&M 58-54, Arkansas hammers Florida’s next opponent Mississippi State 96-70 and Vanderbilt tops Auburn 73-61. Ole Miss plays Tennessee tonight.
** The Gator men’s tennis team beats UCF 7-0 and will host a tournament this weekend while the Florida lacrosse team hosts the English National Team today.
** After staying at Louisville, former Gator assistant Charlie Strong gets a new contract; it is an eight year deal that makes him one of the top ten paid coaches in America.
** An NCAA investigation into the University of Miami’s athletic program has been put on hold by the NCAA after allegations have been made of “a very severe issue of improper conduct” by some members of the NCAA’s enforcement staff helping to conduct the investigation.
** LeBron James brings home a triple-double as the Miami Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 123-116 in overtime. James had 31 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
