** The unbeaten University of Florida softball team is in a tournament in California and will play two games today against Loyola Marymount and Oklahoma State.
** The first race of a full weekend of racing at the Daytona Raceway is today in the Budweiser Duel.
** In SEC men’s basketball, Kentucky knocked off Vanderbilt 74-70; South Carolina upset Ole Miss 63-62; Texas A&M beats reeling Auburn 65-56 and Alabama goes to 10-3 in the SEC with a 64-56 win over Mississippi State. Today, Arkansas plays Georgia.
** The Florida women’s basketball team tries for an SEC home win tonight when it hosts Vanderbilt.
** Former Gator football player and coach Aubrey Hill has been identified in an NCAA probe into the University of Miami’s athletic program. He’s one of the coaches who will face an “ethical conduct” charge after allegedly lying to NCAA investigators who believe Hill provided meals, transportation and lodging to recruits and/or current players in the time he coached at the school.
** The Orlando Magic lost again, this time to Dallas 111-96 while the Miami Heat comes from behind to beat Atlanta 103-90. The NBA trade deadline is also Thursday.
