** The New York Yankees have lost outfielder Curtis Granderson for a few weeks after he broke his forearm Sunday being hit by a pitch.
** The Miami Heat have now won 11 straight after disposing of Cleveland 109-105 as LeBron James and Dwayne Wade combine to score 52 points.
** The Gator women’s basketball team improves to 5-9 in the SEC with a 67-61 win Sunday at Alabama; UF plays at home against Arkansas on Thursday.
** Matt Kuchar wins the PGA’s Match Play Championship in Arizona, beating Hunter Mahan in the final.
** The Gator women’s tennis team knocks off Stanford 4-2 at home Sunday as the Gators have now won 117 straight at home.
** Arkansas wins both the men’s and women’s SEC Indoor Track and Field championships as the Gator men finish second and the Gator women end up fourth.
** Congratulations to the Buchholz girl’s basketball team as it won a state championship in Class 7A over the weekend. Boy’s teams from Hawthorne, Gainesville High and Union County will be playing in the state tournament later this week in Lakeland.
