** Former Gator Joakim Noah had a triple-double of 23 points, 21 rebounds and 11 blocks to lead his Chicago Bulls to a 93-82 win over Philadelphia Thursday.
** Former Gator Camillo Villegas, who has struggled big time on the PGA Tour the last couple of years, leads the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens after shooting a first round six under par 64. Many other former Gators are in the field; Billy Horschel is at 66, Brian Gay at 67, and Matt Every at 69.
** The GHS boy’s basketball team falls to Miami Norland in the Class 6A state semi-final game 73-50.
** In SEC men’s hoops, Missouri crushes South Carolina 90-68 as the Tigers get their 20th win of the year. The Tigers host LSU on Saturday. Florida’s next opponent, Vanderbilt, is at Auburn. And Kentucky, just a game behind UF in the SEC, will be at Arkansas.
** Barring a loss this weekend, it looks like Gonzaga will be the new number one team in men’s college basketball after Indiana lost and Duke lost to Virginia on Thursday.
