** The Miami Heat won its 14th straight game Sunday by beating the New York Knicks on the road 99-93. LeBron James scores 29 to go along with 11 boards to help the Heat secure the win.
** Not so good for the Orlando Magic who are ripped by Memphis 102-82.
** The Chicago Black Hawks continue to pad their record start to an NHL season, beating the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 Sunday to get a point to start a season in a record 22nd straight game.
** The Florida women’s basketball team loses its regular season finale at South Carolina 67-56. Florida starts play in the SEC Tournament this week after finishing the regular season 17-13 and 6-10 in league play. Ninth seed Florida plays eight seed Arkansas Thursday.
** The Gator softball team wins all its games in a tournament it hosts this weekend to improve to 22-1 on the season. UF will play a non-conference game at Alabama Wednesday before opening SEC play this weekend at Auburn.
** The Gator women’s tennis team loses at Texas A&M 4-3 to snap a 37 match regular season win streak against SEC opponents.
** And the Gator baseball team takes two of three from Miami in Gainesville after beating the Hurricanes 6-3 Sunday. Next for UF is a trip to Jacksonville on Tuesday to face the Dolphins.
