** Several more teams have qualified for the NCAA men’s basketball tournament with conference tournament wins. Western Kentucky, top-ranked Gonzaga, James Madison, Iona and Southern Conference champion Davidson are among the teams about to dance.
** Florida football’s annual Pro Day is today in Gainesville. Many former Gator players will work out under the watchful eye of NFL scouts and coaches. One former player flying up the draft boards has been defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd, but he’s not scheduled to work out today because of a slight ankle sprain.
** A busy day of NFL free agency Monday with players being let go and being signed at a rapid pace. The Washington Redskins cut veteran defensive back DeAngelo Hall; Arizona released running back Beanie Wells and the San Francisco 49ers acquired wide receiver Anquan Boldin from Baltimore for a sixth round pick.
** The Miami Heat try for their 19th straight win tonight as they host the Atlanta Hawks. The Orlando Magic welcome the Los Angeles Lakers and former Magic star Dwight Howard back to O-Town.
** The Florida men’s basketball team fell to No. 13 in this week’s AP Top 25 poll; UF is No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches poll.
