The women’s NCAA basketball field is announced, Gator women’s basketball goes to postseason and more in our Tuesday Sports News and Notes…

** The NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament starts tonight with two games; Liberty faces North Carolina A&T and Middle Tennessee takes on Saint Mary’s.

** The field of 64 teams is now announced for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament; seven SEC teams make the field. Connecticut, Baylor, Stanford and Notre Dame are No. 1 seeds.

** The Gator women’s basketball team did not make the NCAA field, but it did get an invite to the WNIT. Florida will play at Florida International on Thursday.

** The men’s NIT Tournament starts tonight and two SEC teams are in action; Kentucky is at Robert Morris and Alabama hosts Northeastern.

** The Miami Heat have made it 23 straight as they pull out a 105-103 win over Boston.

** The unbeaten Gator lacrosse team hosts Stetson tonight; you can hear the game live at 6:20 p.m. on ESPN Radio 850/900.
