** The Gator softball team is back in action today as it hosts UCF this afternoon in a non-league matchup.
** The Gator women’s basketball team plays tonight against Drexel in a Final Four game of the WNIT. Florida is only the second team in the history of the WNIT to reach the Final Four without playing a home game.
** The field is set for the Final Four for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament; Cal, Louisville, Notre Dame and Connecticut are in.
** The Miami Heat were defeated by the New York Knicks last night 102-90. Carmelo Anthony lead his team to victory with 50 points.
** The Tampa Bay Rays opened their season with a 7-3 loss to Baltimore. The Rays will play again today. Miami will be at Washington and Atlanta will host Philadelphia.
** Texas starting pitcher Yu Darvish was one out away from a perfect game on Tuesday, but a two out single by Marwin Gonzalez through the pitcher’s legs spoiled the bid as Texas beat Houston.
** The Arizona Cardinals have acquired quarterback Carson Palmer in a trade with the Oakland Raiders. He is expected to be their starting quarterback.
