** The Gator baseball team got excellent pitching and used a five run sixth inning to down Florida Atlantic 7-1 at McKethan Stadium Tuesday. UF is now 27-23 on the year and will next face Auburn at home this weekend.
** UF rising sophomore Sydney Moss has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2013 USA Basketball U19 World Championship team trials to be held later this month in Colorado Springs.
** The Miami Heat look to even its NBA playoff series with the Chicago Bulls tonight in Miami; the Heat trail 1-0 after a 93-86 loss in Game 1. Golden State visits San Antonio tonight as well with the Spurs up 1-0.
** The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant to bolster their defense.
** The SEC Softball Tournament starts today in Lexington, Kentucky. Florida, the top seed, will play either Alabama or Texas A&M in its first round game tomorrow.
** Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ has been hospitalized after being hit in the head with a line drive last night. He is undergoing tests.
** Also in MLB action, Tampa Bay loses to Toronto 6-4 while Atlanta falls to Cincinnati 5-4. And Boston’s David Ortiz now has a 27 game hitting streak after getting a hit last night against Minnesota in a 6-1 loss.
