** The SEC Baseball Tournament swings into Day 2 today after four teams were eliminated yesterday. Kentucky, Auburn, Florida and Missouri were sent home. Today, Ole Miss plays Arkansas; Texas A&M faces Vanderbilt; Alabama plays LSU and Mississippi State will play South Carolina.
** In the NBA playoffs, San Antonio tops Memphis 93-89 in overtime to go up 2-0 in the Western Conference final. The Spurs blew a double digit fourth quarter lead but rallied to win; Game 3 moves to Memphis.
** Finally the NBA’s Eastern Conference finals start tonight as Miami hosts Indiana.
** The Florida women’s golf team is tied for 15th after the first day of competition at the NCAA Championships in Athens, Georgia.
** Former Gator quarterback Josh Portis was cut by the Seattle Seahawks after his arrest for driving under the influence earlier this month.
** University of Florida senior tennis player Lauren Embree is named the ITA National Senior Player of the Year; only two other Gator players have won the award. She is currently playing singles and doubles for UF at the NCAA’s.
** In MLB action, Atlanta rallies to beat Minnesota 5-4; Florida loses 7-3 to Philadelphia and Tampa Bay downs Toronto 4-3.
