On some nights it’s Havana. On others its Savannah. Friday against Tennessee, it was both for the Florida soccer team. Florida held the Lady Vols off the board en route to winning their fifth consecutive match, a 3-0 road win, Florida’s first since October 11th against Mississippi State.
Florida did not get on the scoreboard until the second half when Florida earned a penalty in the first minute of the stanza. Havana Solaun took the penalty and tucked it away for her fifth goal of the season. Solaun grabbed her sixth later in the match to push the lead to 2-0 when her corner found its way into the back of the net amid a gaggle of Florida and Tenneseee players.
Florida put the finishing touches on its victory as Savannah Jordan notched her 16th on the campaign after Taylor Travis put a ball at her feet inside the 18 yard box. Florida sat on its lead by playing keep-away in the remaining 15 minutes of the match.
The Gators come back home for their final home game of the regular season against Texas A&M Sunday. They’ll try to make it six straight wins when they take on the Aggies at Pressly Stadium with kick off at 3 pm.
