Today starts a new week for prep football as playoff positions continue to pan out.
Gainesville High School (8-1) is already a lock in 6A play having won 15 straight at Citizens Field. They now gear up for the final game of the regular season tonight against a formidable Crawfordville Wakulla (7-2) squad. Running back Tony James continues to lead the way. He has rushed for over a thousand yards and has rushed for over 100 yards in his last three games.
Other Thursday night games include Bradford at Eastside, Keystone at Santa Fe, Eagle’s View at Union County and Branford at Bell.
Friday has nine games involving local teams. They include Buchholz at Fort White, Newberry at Chiles, St. Francis at Trenton, Bonson at Peniel Baptist Academy, Hawthorne at The Villages, Columbia at Suwannee, St. John’s Country Day at Oak Hall, Dixie County at Lafayette and Beacon of Hope Christian at Chiefland.
