SEC Hoop Results, Coaching Changes, Thursday Sports Update

SEC hoops starting out in men’s basketball, some coaching changes and players turning pro in our Thursday Sports Update.

** SEC men’s basketball is now underway and last night Georgia began conference play with an upset win at Missouri 70-64.   Kentucky beat Mississippi State and Florida’s next opponent, Arkansas, lost at Texas A&M 69-53.  Ole Miss faces Auburn tonight.

** Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has declared for the NFL Draft and will leave school early.

** Bobby Petrino according to various reports will be hired for a second time to coach the Louisville football team; he would replace Charlie Strong who is now at Texas.

** Reports are surfacing that Vanderbilt football coach James Franklin will be offered the vacant job at Penn State University.

** Michigan fires offensive coordinator Al Borges and apparently will hire Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier to replace him.

** FSU quarterback Jameis Winston may not be out of legal trouble yet; the woman who accused Winston of sexually assaulting her may now file a civil suit.
