Lots of hoops, NFL playoffs, college football players going to the NFL Draft and more in our Friday Sports Update.
** Both Gator basketball teams are in action this weekend; the Gator men are at Arkansas and the Gator women are at nationally ranked LSU.
** The defending national champion Gator gymnastics team opens its 2014 season Saturday with a meet at UCLA.
** In Gator football news, two more verbal commitments are in the fold. Cornerback Jalen Tabor switches his allegiance from Arizona to Florida and the 2015 class got its first verbal commitment in safety Deontai Williams.
** The NFL playoffs continue this weekend. On Saturday, New Orleans visits Seattle and New England hosts Indianapolis while on Sunday Carolina hosts San Francisco and Denver hosts San Diego.
** The Washington Redskins have a new head coach in Jay Gruden. There are still other vacancies for head coaches in the NFL and a name being tossed around for the Tennessee Titans job is that of former Gator defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, now with the same job with the Seattle Seahawks.
** In the college football ranks, lots of players are declaring for the NFL Draft early including four from Alabama including safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. FSU loses defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan and Auburn loses running back Tre Mason.
