** Per media reports, former Gator players Ian Silberman and Tyler Murphy will transfer to Boston College to join head coach and former Gator assistant Steve Addazio.
** Also per media reports, Florida women’s basketball player Christin Mercer has been suspended indefinitely following her arrest for allegedly taking part in a home invasion robbery.
** Jim Caldwell has been hired as the new coach of the Detroit Lions; Caldwell coached the Colts to a Super Bowl appearance a few years ago.
** A judge has ruled that the concussion settlement of $765 million agreed upon by the NFL and retired players is too low of an amount to cover all potential medical issues for the players. The numbers may be modified and players could receive more.
** SEC hoops finds Kentucky losing at Arkansas 87-85 in overtime on a thunderous dunk by Michael Qualls with .2 seconds left. There are several league games on tap for tonight.
** In the NBA, the Orlando Magic host the Chicago Bulls and Miami is at Washington.
