The already shorthanded Florida women’s basketball team will be even thinner going forward due to a recent arrest.
Sophomore forward Christin Mercer has been suspended indefinitely, as she was arrested over the weekend and is facing robbery charges.
Mercer, who has come off the bench in 12 games for the Gators this season, is averaging 11.8 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game, making her a solid contributor in the Gators’ rotation.
The forward did not see the floor during the Gators’ 82-68 loss at LSU last Sunday, and no timetable is set for her return.
Florida head coach Amanda Butler will lead her 13-4 team on the court Sunday as they take on the 12-5 Georgia Bulldogs in Gainesville. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
