The Major League Baseball season is now fully underway; the Miami Heat once again have the best record in the Eastern Conference and spring football practice continues for Florida in our Tuesday Sports Update…
** The Major League Baseball season is now officially underway for all teams and on opening day yesterday Miami blasts Colorado 10-1; Milwaukee blanks Atlanta 2-0 and Tampa Bay routs Toronto 9-2.
** Spring football practice continued for Florida Monday with an open practice. The biggest development might have been that freshman quarterback Will Grier took most of the second team reps behind clear starter Jeff Driskel. The new offense being installed by new coordinator Kurt Roper seems to favor dual threat style quarterbacks such as Driskel and Grier.
** The Miami Heat again have the best record in the NBA’s Eastern Conference after beating Toronto 93-83 Monday.
** Meanwhile the San Antonio Spurs have now won 18 straight games after ripping Indiana 103-77.
** In the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, Notre Dame remains unbeaten and advances to its fourth straight Final Four with an 88-69 win over Baylor. And Connecticut also moves to the Final Four with a 69-54 win over Texas A&M. Tonight, Maryland plays Louisville and Stanford plays North Carolina to fill the other two Final Four spots.
