A lot of sports to talk about today in our Monday Sports Update…
** The NCAA men’s basketball tournament comes to a close tonight when Connecticut and Kentucky play for the national title.
** Meanwhile the U Conn women’s basketball team will also play for a national title later this week when it takes on Notre Dame in the championship game; both teams are unbeaten.
** In baseball, Washington downs Atlanta 2-1 and San Diego nips Miami 4-2. The Braves and Marlins are off today. In the American League, Tampa Bay falls to Texas 3-0; the Rays open a series at Kansas City tonight.
** The Miami Heat keep the top spot in the Eastern Division with a 102-91 win over the New York Knicks, damaging New York’s playoff chances. The second place Indiana Pacers lost to Atlanta 107-88.
** During his annual news conference Sunday, NCAA president Mark Emmert says the “one and done” rule should be changed and that the NCAA is adamantly opposed to players forming unions.
