Another national title for the University of Connecticut in basketball, a milestone day is somewhat spoiled in baseball and more in our Wednesday Sports Update.
** Right after the men’s basketball team won a national title, the University of Connecticut women do the same thing Tuesday after blasting Notre Dame 79-58 to win a record ninth national title for the program. The Huskies finished the year unbeaten.
** The Brooklyn Nets have now beaten the Miami Heat in all of their meetings this year after an 88-87 win on Tuesday.
** Tuesday marked the 40th anniversary of Henry Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s all time home run record in Atlanta. However, the 2014 Braves lost to the Mets 4-0.
** The Miami Marlins were cooled off by Washington 5-0 while Tampa Bay edged Kansas City 1-0.
** The Masters starts tomorrow but the always fun Par 3 Tournament is played today at Augusta National.
** Gator football spring practice continues toward the Orange And Blue spring game Saturday. Gator coach Will Muschamp says there are some players that have sustained injuries like running back Mark Herndon and linebacker Daniel McMillan (ankles) after a scrimmage Saturday.
