The Gator men’s basketball team minus a player, a lot of playoffs, a lot of baseball and the SEC Baseball Tournament highlight our Thursday Sports Update…
** The Gator men’s basketball team apparently will again be without the services of big man Damontre Harris. CBSSports.com first reported that Harris would not be returning to the team this year and that report was confirmed by ESPN 850 WRUF. With Harris out, the Gators are now right at their scholarship limit.
** The SEC Baseball Tournament continues today in Hoover, Alabama. Vanderbilt plays Ole Miss in an elimination game to start the day followed by Florida and South Carolina in an elimination game. At night, LSU plays Arkansas and Mississippi State faces Kentucky.
** The San Antonio Spurs go up 2-0 in the NBA Western Conference Finals after blowing out Oklahoma City 112-77 Wednesday. Tonight, Miami hosts Indiana in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals with the series tied 1-1.
** The Stanley Cup playoffs continue in the NHL as Los Angeles rallies to beat Chicago 6-2 to tie the Western Conference Final at 1-1. Tonight, the New York Rangers host Montreal up 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Final.
** In baseball, Tampa Bay continues its slide with a 3-2 loss to Oakland. The Rays are now 19-28 on the year. Miami blasts Philadelphia 14-6 and Atlanta loses 6-1 to Milwaukee.
