** The United States looks to advance in World Cup play and needs a draw or a win over Germany today to assure it will advance.
** The NBA Draft takes place tonight and we’ll see if Gators like Patrick Young and Scottie Wilbekin will get drafted or sign on as free agents.
** Another no-hitter in baseball thrown by Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum last night as he throws his second career no-hitter against San Diego.
** In other MLB action, Miami nips Philadelphia 4-2; Atlanta blanks Houston 4-0 and Tampa Bay beats Pittsburgh 5-1. Today, Atlanta faces Houston, Miami is at Philadelphia and Tampa Bay is off.
** The Rays have called up former Gator infielder Cole Figueroa to the team for the second time this season.
** Wimbledon continues today after men’s top seed Novak Djokovic and defending champ Andy Murray advance on the men’s side while two seed Li Na advances on the women’s side. Men’s seven seed David Ferrer and women’s eight seed Victoria Azarenka are losers.
** Vanderbilt has won the College World Series, nipping Virginia 3-2 to capture its first ever national championship in baseball.
